Thanks, Marc,
I appreciate the input. And I'm glad you approve of my website! I certainly have put a lot of work into it; I'll say that much.

So I'm hoping this "new" direction will bear fruit before too much longer. I don't have so much free time as I did in previous years, But I will get things accomplished one way or another.

Robert:

I think this is a good direction. As I am sure you have experienced, though all travels into the unknown beget uncertainty, almost any 'new' direction a mature artist takes will bear fruit.

I have enjoyed looking at your work and your site off and on for several years. It is one of the best artist sites on the internet.

Regards,

Is this an abstract head "sort of ?" Every bas-relief painting, and really, every artwork I create is a "sort of." And, that's the way I like them.

I worked on this acrylic painting on wood for who knows how many hours. Am I finished with it? It will most likely morph into a new piece. So it's not exactly "unfinished."

They often simply go as far as they can, and then I move to a new piece. Someone said that artists just abandon paintings. I don't think I've done that. I still think about this one, and all the work I did on it. It's alive inside me. Just call me Frankenstein!

This is a direction that greatly interests me. And I am not necessarily talking about Photoshop art. Or in this case, Gimp2.6.6 (I can't spend $500 on Photoshop, or won't).

I mean this direction of abstracting from nature...starting with a sort of a landscape thing, and really bending and shaping it until it's barely recognizable as that. Perhaps there are just a couple of threads left connecting it to the world we "recognize" as our little earth.

This is the last artwork I ever sold out of Goldsberry Gallery in Houston. I was rather happy with the results on this one, aesthetically speaking. Well, since it sold for a good price.

But I would like to do another version. To be honest, I am not totally pleased with the "flower pot lightning boltage" thingie and the "house of whatnot" on the right side. I would like to take this basic shape and image and further abstract it into head scratching land. That's the place I like - where I don't quite know what I'm looking at, but almost.
